Buhari Orders Sale Of 9 Presidential Aircraft To Cut Cost


The president as  reported by ThisDay have ordered that nine aircraft from the presidential fleet be sold off to cut cost. The Federal Government is said to  have been be spending over 12million yearly on the maintenance of the presidential fleet .

Details of the plans on the sale of the aircraft were disclosed by a source who is aware of the president directive and is also acknowledge able in Aviation matters. Nine aircraft ' which still have market value are to be sold immediately to reduce maintenance cost

Nigerian presidential fleet is said to be one of the largest in Africa, and third largest in Nigeria, after commercial carriers like Arik,Aero contractors. The fleet is reported to boast of 16 aircraft including the boeing 738 BBJ,NAF 001,or Eagle One used by the president for travels.

Its also said to include two Gulfstream 550 jets, two Dassault Felcon  7X Jets,One Hawker Siddeley 125-800 and One Cessena 550 Citation II,One Benchcraft King Air B200,and three Augusta Westland AW139 Hlicopters among others.
